The following claim has been proposed. If you have constructive suggestions for
improving it, please follow-up to this message. Thank you.

claim: TEABOT
owner: 80 (OldTimer)
judge: TBD
short: Beverage Robot
long:
A similar Claim was previously issued under the Trading Symbol TBOT.
With the release of robot vacuum cleaners, and the development of the
PR2 Robobarista, another claim has been created.

Robot technology, apart from factories and spacecraft is not
particularly advanced. Robots can walk about, and hold a limited
conversation. They can even carry around prepared items. But when it
comes to making and serving a cuppa, the bots can't carry out the
whole process. Automatic coffee making machines can make coffee, tea,
hot chocolate, mocha and so on. Robots to serve hot drinks are not
readily available and costly when they are. Robot vacuum cleaners in
the home are now commonplace.

Rather than using vending machines which always seem to be at the
other end of the building, the Teabot or Tea Robot will make a
beverage and deliver it to a customer. The Teabot must serve at least
one type of hot beverage. Just serving cold drinks whether canned,
bottled or in cups is not acceptable.

The order could be sent from any location in the Teabot's service
area. It is anticipated that the orders would be taken by phone,
email, SMS, web page or similar means. However, talking to or pushing
buttons on a mobile Teabot would be acceptable but going to a fixed
point such as the location of a drinks machine is not acceptable. The
order might be sent from the customer's location to determine the
point of delivery but other means of specifying the delivery location
are acceptable. The beverage could be made by a separate drink
machine. There must be no human or animal intervention. However, a
human can refill the beverage making machine.

The beverage must then be carried by an autonomous mobile ground
machine to the customer's location. The customer's location can be
pre-defined. To meet the claim, the location can be on the same floor
at work or at home. A shopping mall, food hall or outdoor
entertainment area will be acceptable. Tracks for a line-following
system, or rails like a sushi train are not acceptable. However, the
Teabot could be trained to follow delivery routes. The Teabot must be
available to deliver to 10 or more different locations. It must also
cope with obstacles such as furniture. Moving objects such as people,
animals and vehicles must also be avoided.

At least 30 beverage orders must have been received, processed and
delivered by the Teabot. The price of the beverage must not exceed
USD10. Billing must be done to an account, credit card or pre-paid
card, no cash need be used. Teabot must be commercially available and
available to the public. It must be affordable to businesses. Also it
must be installed, working and in use. The units need not have been
paid for. This claim will be judged YES if at least 10 Teabots are in
use at separate sites. This must be before the 1st of January 2020 US
eastern standard time. The claim can be judged YES if at least 10
Teabots are in use before the due date.
